Editing Blog
The first thing I did to edit my commercial, was transport all the videos on my phone to my computer. This is where I edit many silly youtube videos my sisters and I have made, so I have all my editing software on here. Once I was done getting the videos onto my computer, I put them all in the commercial in the correct order. I had about 5 minutes of film, because of how many times we reshot each scene. I spent about an hour cutting each scene to fit the perfect length. I unfortunately had to cut many shots out entirely since I could not fit it in the time slot. After this, my commercial was all ready for the best part of editing, effects. I spent another hour adding the needed effects to my commercial. Specifically, I needed to portray that my product made the park a more colorful place, so on half of my scenes, I put the Black & White filter on. For the other half of my scenes, I made sure to boost the saturation and different tones to make it more colorful. I had a slight advantage since I used to edit videos in my free time for fun. After adding filters, I needed to speed up some clips to show an energy boost, and slow down some clips in order to elaborate on how much fun my sister was having. The last thing I did was add music and one sound effect. The music was upbeat and enthusiastic, and the sound effect was to transition two drastic scenes into one another. After re-watching and reviewing this commercial, I showed it to my family in order to have a second opinion. They all loved it! My 30-second commercial came out amazing, and so did the time I had making it!!
