Introduction to the Music Video Project

 

     For this music video, I have chosen to work partially alone. The reason I say partially is because I will use the help of my friend to film for my music video. I have many reasons that explain why I would chose to work alone. To start, I find that in all projects , I personally work better alone. I get my work done faster, and I don't have to rely on anyone except for myself. Additionally, since I can drive, it is easier to go places, film, and then come back home without the stress of making plans. Recently, I have had some experiences that have made my tighten my circle a little, and only rely on my close friends.  For this reason, I will be filming my music video with one of my friends that I’ve known since birth.  She is my twin flame, my other half.  Of course, since she does not attend my school, I will be doing all of the work.  I wanted to film with her because she is someone who I am very close with, and I want to share this fun experience with her!

    The name of the song that I chose is “First Place” by the widely-known youtuber, Larray. My friend and I know this song word-for-word. This song talks about a guy who was bullied, but rises up above the haters and ends up winning in his own way. The chorus of the song starts with “This aint a race but I still take first place”, which is something my friend and I quote on a daily basis. It has helped us both realize in different situations that not everyone has to “take the prize”, but when people hate on you and you stay positive, thats YOUR form of winning. Larry has been bullied and discriminated against in the past. Now, with his social media platform, he is able to express himself, and his stories of how he rose above the haters. I will do the same, but since I am given this opportunity, I thought “What better time to make a music video with my best friend on something so inspirational?” I cant wait!!
