Step on The Gas! Filming in Process!
Last Tuesday, November 24, I had my friend Catarina over to film my Music Video. We had this day off, along with the rest of the week, due to thanksgiving break, and I decided to utilize this opportunity to have Cat over.I texted her the information about the commercial, including what to wear and what to expect. However, my friend is NOT the brightest. 😂 Cat came over wearing a black shirt!... but black sweatpants as well. This shifted the plan a little bit, but only the smallest amount. I went upstairs to change into black sweatpants, and all was good! I made sure to grab makeup and two pairs of glasses, and we were off.
I drove the two of us to an empty parking lot right by my house, and we began to film. The first thing we did was connect my phone to the car speaker and set my phone up to film us. I filmed the two of us dancing and singing to the song in the car, and later cut out the clips I liked to put them in the Music Video. The car was parked of course! One example of this can be seen when we sing the lyrics "Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco; I don't speak Spanish but I know 'Despacito'!" We then repeated this step outside of the car. We took turns recording each other in order to put little highlights in the Music Video. Now comes the lyrics! I would say the hardest part of this was getting the timing right for each verse. My friend and I had this image in my head, and I wanted more than anything for it to be displayed on screen, even if that meant working extra hard to fit all of my transitions in! We filmed each shot several times with several different filters, until I finally had at least 2 good shots for each lyric. When I got home, I transported the videos onto my computer, where my editing software is, and began to cut, copy, and edit!!
