My Music Video
This is My Music Video! I love how it turned out! The message that was contributed was a combination of two important life lessons that I have learned. One, is to never let "haters" bring you down. I know it might sound cliche, but it's true! There will always be people in life who will try to hate and bring you down, and it's your job not to let them! The second lesson is the fact that you should always utilize an extra shoulder to lean on. This was a common problem for me, as I liked to take everything, all my problems, alone so that I didn't burden anyone else. Over time, I learned that this was not healthy. Taking on every issue on your own can cause mental risks and increases in stress levels. When you have an extra shoulder to lean on, whether that is your friends, parents, teachers, or others, you should never be afraid to use it! After all, that's what friends are for. The reason I chose this song to represent that was because of the fact that Larray, the singer, has inspired me to be more confident in many ways, and I wanted this to be a symbol of that!
In this video, I was in charge of directing each scene as well as editing. However, unlike my last production, I was in front of the camera this time! I remember discussing before how I feel more comfortable behind the camera than in front. In this case, when I wasn't alone, I felt like I did when I was little. When I was little, I had this love for being on stage and having the main role. As I got older, I grew out of it, and I preferred to edit and stay behind the curtains. When my friend and I started to record, I felt that rush of confidence and adrenaline that I used to feel when I would act in front of large audiences. I feel that overall, this video gave me an unforgettable AND a nostalgic filming experience. I was also able to take on a huge understanding of how important filming, editing, and directing your own film is!
