    This spring break was super productive and exactly what I needed to wrap up filming. Up until this break, I only had the beginning few scenes filmed. I realized that I needed to find a night to film my movie, and spend the next day editing. I was able to film my movie in a time period of around 2-3 hours. With the costumes and re-filming, this process took closer to 3 hours. I was able to get the lighting just right, which was a struggle for me. Since some things changed, I have to go back to edit my titles, script, and my schedule. However, after my filming ending so late, I saved editing for the following day. When I pieced my clips together, I had closer to 5 whole minutes of film. This was quite a struggle for me since I didn't know what to cut out or keep in. I eventually narrowed my film down to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This was the hardest part for me, since I felt that every single shot was necessary for the plot.      After creating the document in my last blog, I felt that I had a pretty good idea for the costumes and makeup I wanted each actress in. I feel that I have done all that I can to prepare for the majority of my filming. Spring break is approaching, so I am planning on filming my movie on the earlier side, and editing directly after. These past two or so weeks, my work has been super overwhelming. The end of the quarter comes around so fast, so it has been a struggle trying to finish my assignments so quickly. I am a very academic student, but I also like to maintain a balanced social life out of school. Since I don't normally go out on week nights, I save all my plans for the weekend and work for the week. This means piles of work on some nights in order to let go on the weekend. Amongst all of this, it has been extremely hard to film. Especially since my core classes work me hard, and my school schedule is quite different than my sister's, it has been hard to find spa...

     This weekend, I began filming my movie! Unfortunately, I did not get to film any of the night scenes for my film. I had a few moments of free time, so instead of filming a scene that involves makeup, I utilized my time to film scenes that did not involve any excess props. The first scene I filmed was the ground-level shot of the babysitter getting out of the car.  I also filmed some of the scenes that the little child appeared in since I had time at home with my sisters. The last thing I filmed was the closeup of the babysitter ringing the doorbell. When I had the time, I went online and made a word document of what I wanted each character to wear during the scenes. I included screen shots of this document in this blog. I planned out the costumes on this document and the makeup is assumed to be natural unless I write otherwise.     My last two goals were to start filming my movie, and to figure out a low-key lighting solution for when I film at night! I was fortunate enough to finish one of those things.  I was thinking of ways to solve this problem of the "low-key lighting" when I decided to take a break. As I was messing with the TikTok app, I found that my sister had a small phone ring light, which I included a picture of at the top. After messing with the settings, I found that if you turn on the lowest setting of the ring light while in the dark, it illuminates just enough features of the actor's face, but still keeps it clear that we are in the dark. I tried filming a few sample videos with the light, and it worked perfectly!! Since this solved my first goal, I tried to set aside time to film this weekend. However, this past weekend was kind of hectic, and the times that I was able to film, none of the things I needed were available, such as my mom's car or my little sister. This past ...

     I finished my two tasks from the last blog. I remember mentioning that by Sunday, March 7th, I would have completed my titles for my movie, as well as the music requirements. I decided my font and animation for my titles very vaguely in my blog, but I took the time this weekend to finalize these details. I had the font and color for my titles picked out, as well as the actual titles I would use. I decided that the order I would display my titles will be in the order they are listed. I also did some quick math in my head to establish the fact that I would like my titles to be played in the last 30 seconds of my opening sequence. Since I have 12 titles, I can separate them into groups of 2. This will mean I now have 6 "titles" or groups, which I can divide into 5 sections in order for them to fit into the 30 second frame.      If I have not mentioned this already, I am an extreme neat freak, and don't feel satisfied unless things are organized and in their correct place. For this project, many may film their movie before checking for any of the following things. For me, I need to have these set in stone before even thinking about filming my movie. I decided to set the pace at which I accomplish all of my checks on the 'To-Do List". I will start with two simple tasks to finish by the end of this week. It is Thursday, March 4th. These two tasks will be completed by Sunday, March 7. First, I have to figure out my titles and animation. I am the opposite of tech-savvy, so I plan on tackling the hardest parts of this media project first. I spent about 45 minutes to 1 hour researching different title fonts, and figuring out how to animate them. I cited the title website in my last title blog.      In my Storyboard, I pretty much drew out every shot I plan on recording. However, I did not go into detail about the time span of my titles. I have 12 different titles that I would like to display in the last 30 seconds of my opening sequence. I would like these titles to lead up to my movie’s final title. If I split these titles in half, I would like there to be two titles per 5 seconds. I will place my titles at the bottom of the screen, and use the titles in the order I listed them onto my title blog. The titles will simply appear and disappear from the screen. I feel that adding effects will distract my audience from the film itself, in which I want them to pay attention to the ending.
