    I am finally done with my project! This past Wednesday, I had the time to sit down and look at all of my information for my opening sequence.  I started by watching the movie, and making sure everything ran as planned. I looked out for any titles that were out of place, scenes that may have lost audio, or anything else that could possibly go wrong. Everything ran according to plan! The next thing I did, was go through my sound and shooting script. I made sure every shot and sound was included. I wanted this information to be as accurate as possible. When this task was done, I made sure to look at my schedules, locations, sounds, shots, and participants to make sure this information was correct as well. I also corrected my titles, since they were not bold enough, I had to change the color from black to red. The last step I will do tonight is upload my final project to youtube.      These past few days have been equally as stressful as before. Cambridge exams have been the main focus, and until the entire month of May is over, I don't think I can fully relax. I have many exams to study for, weekend study groups, and more! However, I did manage to show my movie to more people.  My aunt, uncle, and grandma Facetimed me the other night. I asked them to watch my movie, and of course they agreed. They liked how it turned out, and agreed that making the titles red made them stand out more! I understand they are my family, but they would tell me if they felt they needed me to change anything. I believe that my family's opinion is not bias towards me. They were honest in their critiques.      Today, I took my FSA.  It took 2 hours out of my day that I would have been able to work on my movie sound and shooting script.     This week has been a mess. I am now in the fourth quarter of school, and exams are right around the corner. These past two weeks have been a hurricane of work and studying and last minute assignments from teachers. I have been slammed with work, and I have not gotten to edit my blogs yet. Today is one of the first times I sat down and focused entirely on media. Normally, my mind is going one million miles per hour, but today I calmed myself down to focus on the tasks in front of me. I went to edit my schedule. I had originally planned on filming on the first few weeks of March, but I got so slammed by work that I ended up filming and editing over spring break. I went back and fixed up my cast list under "participants".  I switched my title blog around so that it included the cast and the right names as well.     This weekend, I finished my movie! I ended up adding filters, which made it look too cheesy in my opinion, only to remove them after. When I got my finished product, I showed it to 6 different people! The first people were my mom and dad. They both said that they absolutely loved the editing, but they thought the ending was a little bit confusing. I ended up going back and changing the last clips of my movie to make it less confusing. It wasn't a drastic change, but it was enough to help the ending of my movie make sense. Next, I showed the film to my two siblings, one of which was in the film. They both loved the movie, but agreed that I should add music that was more defined and helped define how scary the ending of my movie is supposed to be.     This past Monday, I was able to finish up my film! I originally was half-way done with my titles, but since learning there should only be one title per screen, I had to edit my film and titles so that each one fit together the way I wanted. After about an hour and 15 minutes of editing, I finally finished my film! I still want to go back and edit the filters on my movie, but the overall hardest part is done! I found that there were 2 errors with my titles. The first being the fact that the black font in some of my titles blended with the screen, and became uninterpretable.  For this, I had to go back and change the color of my titles to bright, blood red. This helped them to not blend into the background, and now they stand out! The second thing I had to do was edit the times that my titles appeared.  I added titles to my film, listing the cast names as well. This meant each title was only on screen for 2.5 seconds. This was not so much an error, but rather an ad...

    This spring break was super productive and exactly what I needed to wrap up filming. Up until this break, I only had the beginning few scenes filmed. I realized that I needed to find a night to film my movie, and spend the next day editing. I was able to film my movie in a time period of around 2-3 hours. With the costumes and re-filming, this process took closer to 3 hours. I was able to get the lighting just right, which was a struggle for me. Since some things changed, I have to go back to edit my titles, script, and my schedule. However, after my filming ending so late, I saved editing for the following day. When I pieced my clips together, I had closer to 5 whole minutes of film. This was quite a struggle for me since I didn't know what to cut out or keep in. I eventually narrowed my film down to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This was the hardest part for me, since I felt that every single shot was necessary for the plot.      After creating the document in my last blog, I felt that I had a pretty good idea for the costumes and makeup I wanted each actress in. I feel that I have done all that I can to prepare for the majority of my filming. Spring break is approaching, so I am planning on filming my movie on the earlier side, and editing directly after. These past two or so weeks, my work has been super overwhelming. The end of the quarter comes around so fast, so it has been a struggle trying to finish my assignments so quickly. I am a very academic student, but I also like to maintain a balanced social life out of school. Since I don't normally go out on week nights, I save all my plans for the weekend and work for the week. This means piles of work on some nights in order to let go on the weekend. Amongst all of this, it has been extremely hard to film. Especially since my core classes work me hard, and my school schedule is quite different than my sister's, it has been hard to find spa...

     This weekend, I began filming my movie! Unfortunately, I did not get to film any of the night scenes for my film. I had a few moments of free time, so instead of filming a scene that involves makeup, I utilized my time to film scenes that did not involve any excess props. The first scene I filmed was the ground-level shot of the babysitter getting out of the car.  I also filmed some of the scenes that the little child appeared in since I had time at home with my sisters. The last thing I filmed was the closeup of the babysitter ringing the doorbell. When I had the time, I went online and made a word document of what I wanted each character to wear during the scenes. I included screen shots of this document in this blog. I planned out the costumes on this document and the makeup is assumed to be natural unless I write otherwise.     My last two goals were to start filming my movie, and to figure out a low-key lighting solution for when I film at night! I was fortunate enough to finish one of those things.  I was thinking of ways to solve this problem of the "low-key lighting" when I decided to take a break. As I was messing with the TikTok app, I found that my sister had a small phone ring light, which I included a picture of at the top. After messing with the settings, I found that if you turn on the lowest setting of the ring light while in the dark, it illuminates just enough features of the actor's face, but still keeps it clear that we are in the dark. I tried filming a few sample videos with the light, and it worked perfectly!! Since this solved my first goal, I tried to set aside time to film this weekend. However, this past weekend was kind of hectic, and the times that I was able to film, none of the things I needed were available, such as my mom's car or my little sister. This past ...

     I finished my two tasks from the last blog. I remember mentioning that by Sunday, March 7th, I would have completed my titles for my movie, as well as the music requirements. I decided my font and animation for my titles very vaguely in my blog, but I took the time this weekend to finalize these details. I had the font and color for my titles picked out, as well as the actual titles I would use. I decided that the order I would display my titles will be in the order they are listed. I also did some quick math in my head to establish the fact that I would like my titles to be played in the last 30 seconds of my opening sequence. Since I have 12 titles, I can separate them into groups of 2. This will mean I now have 6 "titles" or groups, which I can divide into 5 sections in order for them to fit into the 30 second frame.      If I have not mentioned this already, I am an extreme neat freak, and don't feel satisfied unless things are organized and in their correct place. For this project, many may film their movie before checking for any of the following things. For me, I need to have these set in stone before even thinking about filming my movie. I decided to set the pace at which I accomplish all of my checks on the 'To-Do List". I will start with two simple tasks to finish by the end of this week. It is Thursday, March 4th. These two tasks will be completed by Sunday, March 7. First, I have to figure out my titles and animation. I am the opposite of tech-savvy, so I plan on tackling the hardest parts of this media project first.      In my Storyboard, I pretty much drew out every shot I plan on recording. However, I did not go into detail about the time span of my titles. I have 12 different titles that I would like to display in the last 30 seconds of my opening sequence. I would like these titles to lead up to my movie’s final title. If I split these titles in half, I would like there to be two titles per 5 seconds. I will place my titles at the bottom of the screen, and use the titles in the order I listed them onto my title blog. The titles will simply appear and disappear from the screen. I feel that adding effects will distract my audience from the film itself, in which I want them to pay attention to the ending.

Schedule: Today's date is February 25, 2021. My Opening Sequence is due April of 2021. I intend to space out my film schedule just enough for me to have time to incorporate every detail I plan to, but still finish my film in a safe amount of time. 02/26/21- I will edit my titles and pick the fonts, animation, and color scheme I want to use. 03/02-05/21- I will check to make sure I have all of the necessary props for this film.
